It's a lot to take on board deciding whether to self publish or send your manuscript to a publisher. So here are some of the top benefits of working with a publisher;

1. They will challenge you to create a great book with the right structure, content, design and edit.
2. They will help you get reviews on Amazon - never underestimate how hard it is to get reviews. Even people that tell me my book changed their life have not got around to writing a review! 10 people wrote a review of my latest book Taking Control Of Your Mind that features in the book, but only 3 have managed to find the time to add the same words to Amazon! Getting reviews can be tough but essential for promoting your book. (This doesn't bother me a great deal because my goals for this book aren't record high sales, it's a resource to point clients to, it's a resource that sells me before my coaching, courses and speaking gigs get the chance to. It's a great way of helping people see how I will help them. And it leads to some massive opportunities - these were the goals from this book. 3. If they are like Pearson's (my publishers) they will throw you a snazzy launch party in an exclusive London location overlooking the Thames. (Don't assume you are getting a launch party. Publishers rarely throw them, it will be up to you whether you do this. Pearson's agreed because I was prepared to get the bums on seats, arrange the press release, ensure it featured in the press (I had so much press I couldn't keep track of it all!) and host the event. They just supplied the venue, books and branded cup cakes! A book launch is only powerful if you do the right things with it - just like any aspect of your marketing strategy for your book.
